Calcium
This is of major significance in ensuring the optimal development of a number of physiological functions. Its importance is indisputable in:
- the pollination process – pollen production,
- cell wall formation,
- cellular pH regulation,
- the prophylactic effect (the effect on pathogens).
The crops most sensitive to Ca deficiency are:
- fruit trees,
- vines,
- vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, pumpkins...).
Moderately sensitive are:
- oilseeds,
- legumes,
- sugar beet,
- cereals.
